Friendly staff provided great local recommendations.

The internet was atrociously slow, making communication a nightmare. I often experienced drops in connection that left me frustrated. Additionally, the room had no hot water and incredibly low water pressure, making showers uncomfortable. We were also disappointed to find no hair dryer or adequate supply of drinking water available for guests.

Charming stay with local flair

Our stay at El Ultimo Maya was delightful! The staff went out of their way to assist us in arranging a snorkeling tour that felt personal and memorable. The location is perfect, just steps away from the beach and the vibrant local town, which is filled with beautiful artwork.

However, the bed was a bit too firm for our liking, making it difficult to find comfort during the night. We did notice that the shower needed a bit of maintenance, particularly the hot water switch.

Cozy atmosphere with a clean environment makes this spot a delightful retreat. The tour with Sergio to see turtles was the highlight, offering a personalized experience that outshines the usual group tours. Enjoying the delicious fish and chips made for a perfect end to the day. However, some areas need better sound insulation, as noise from nearby rooms can be disruptive, and the limited dining options can be a downside. The beach access is great but comes with some uneven paths to navigate.

Our room was big and cozy. We enjoyed relaxing on the lovely patio every evening. The pool area was great for unwinding, and we loved the serene vibe while sipping our morning coffee. Although the Wi-Fi could be spotty at times, it didn't really take away from our enjoyable stay. 😊

Just a balanced option for a quick stop in Akumal with best value. The efficient staff helped us with local dining options that were fantastic. Avoid rooms near the highway for a quieter stay.
